Using and Analysing Data Update Sessions Summer 2017

Please note that these sessions are only open to delegates who attended the Analysing and Using Data 2016 Course.

Using and Analysing Data Update

This update session lasts for half a day and is aimed simply to enable delegates to bring along their analysed data (internal and external) for 2016/17 and have support to check that they have analysed progress and attainment, including the comparisons with national comparator groups accurately, and drawn appropriate conclusions. It will be expected that delegates will have used the proformas (and colour-coding) that were recommended on the course (or similar ones that the school has adapted).

Each session will begin with a short lecture on the latest updates regarding assessment recommendations. Time will be spent going through each of the recommendations, so that delegates can check that their own analysis captures the relevant information. There will then be time afterwards for delegates to update their analysis in the light of any clarifications or recommendations, and time for discussion and questions regarding each schools’ analysis.

Delegates should bring their fully charged laptops and completed proformas (fine for these to be on the laptop – no need to print them out) along with their most up to date, validated RAISEonline 2016 and Inspection Dashboard (just in case we need to reference them). Validated RAISEonlines were updated on 14 February 2017 and the Inspection Dashboards are due out at the end of February 2017.

KS2 results are accessible to schools on 4 July 2017, so it is expected that schools will have this information with them on the session.

By the end of this course you will have a full analysis and evaluation of all aspects of your latest school data, assuming that your without levels system is sophisticated enough to allow this.
